What's the secret to removing the smell of vomit? I read that Odor Bomb is really good but not sure if I should order it.

What can I do? I used a spray but now it smells like floral vomit :(

This. My DS just puked ALL over my couch and I cleaned it up first with a mixture of vinegar and water, then I used my steam cleaner with the cleaning solution, and lastly, I sprinkled baking soda all over and let it sit then vacuumed it up. There isn't even the slightest hint of smell, it's like the couch is brand new. Worked like a charm!

Does it ever go away? I'll try that but I'm reading horror stories online.

This is totally off topic- but what steam cleaner do you have?? Looking for recommendations!

IF you clean it right you can get rid of the smell. I almost had a heart attack when he puked on my couch (microfiber) because it was all gross, chunky milk. The WORST smell. But the vinegar/water really helped to neutralize the smell, the steam cleaner really deep cleaned it, and the baking soda removed any residual stink. You would NEVER know he threw up on the couch, no stains and no smells.

I have a Hoover Steam Vac with Spin Scrub. It's a big vacuum cleaner size steamer but it has all the tools to cleans things like couches and other furniture. We love it, it really cleans well.

It was wasn't too expensive either, I think around $170 maybe. I got it on amazon.......they have many to choose from at good prices.

Is this in a vehicle?

If so, my FIL owns a car wash and gets this situation ALL THE TIME. He has some special industrial cleaner that only business owners can get and he said it's the only thing that really does it. People bring their cars to him and he does it. He's in Commack.

I'm so thankful, knock wood, this has not happened to me yet.

I use Nature's Miracle. It's sold to remove pet odor stains but works well for DS's throw up stains. He spits all over my couch, car seat ect, and I spray Nature's Miracle and it works. It doesn't work right away, it takes a good day to really work. I also have a dog that pees a lot in the house so I"m good at getting rid of organic stains.

DD threw up all over my new couch. I had my cushion professionally cleaned by Guardsmen (I took extra protection plan on my couch and have already used it twice in a year). There is not even a hint of the smell.

I was just going to post this! My stepson threw up all over the backseat of my car years ago and we tried many different things-this was the only thing that worked. I think I used two full bottles on the seat and the smell was gone the next day! He really threw up a lot all over the place!

Yes! If you go on the website or pull out the paperwork you got, you should be able to find what's covered, but bodily fluids is definitely one of them. You have to file a report and include pics. Then they send someone to your house. They will only clean the cushion(s) affected by stain though.

Re: How to get rid of odor from..TMI.. Sorry

DD got sick so bad in her bed, I had to wash her stuffed animals, along with all the bedding.

Nothing work - hot water w/bleach, soaking in detergent, baking soda, etc.

My MIL went out and bought Borax and we added that to a hot wash load with detergent and it all came out clean and no smell!

You can get it at Walmart and Target.
