Disney Dolphin/ swan - yay or nay?
Considering a stay here but undecided. Is it nice? We love the wilderness and animal kingdom lodge and that's where we usually stay but considering the swan/ dolphin. Which one is better/ nicer? Are the rooms immaculate? Am I better off staying at a disney resort?
Eta: Let me add it would cost me practically NOTHING to stay at swan/dolphin

You lose the ability to use your magic band to charge, and you do not get Disney's Magical Express service. If those things are important to you, I would book a Disney hotel. The location can't be beat though!

Re: Disney Dolphin/ swan - yay or nay?
We have stayed at both resorts. I personally would pick Wilderness Lodge over Dolphin/Swan.
Theming is better for the kids at Wilderness Lodge. You also have direct access to MK.
Dolphin/Swan are not Disney properties so you don't get the same benefits. While the boat was somewhat convenient, I thought it took forever to take a bus to the parks. That trip was the only time we did not rent a car. Never again. Maybe I'm just impatient but I did not want to spend 30 minutes on a bus while we stopped by Boardwalk, Beach Club, etc.
We stayed at Dolphin for free using Starwood points and paid for Wilderness Lodge. If we had the exact same dilemma, I would pick Wilderness Lodge every time.
Also wanted to add that Dolphin/Swan are not really walking distance to HS. It is walking distance to Epcot but we were beat after walking all over Epcot. We opted to take the boat home.

Well that changes things, at least IMO! LOL. If I was getting a super good deal, even after factoring in the price of the rental car or airport transportation, I would probably stay there. We stayed 3 nights at a value that I probably wouldn't have stayed at because it was free with miles! I've also stayed off site a few times because it was free with reward points.

I hope the Dolphin is worth it because that's where I am staying in June.
I got a pretty decent deal.
