What did you do with your old baby gear?

Hi everyone,

Just wondering what i should do with my old baby gear... Im currently pregnant and wanted to upgrade a few items, such as our stroller etc.

Wondering if people just donate, sell or throw out?

Thanks

I am actually calling around looking to donate, but it's harder than I thought! Everyone keeps referring me to other places, most places don't pick up, and many places don't have the space to house items unless people need them at that time. There are shelters, churches, teen pregnancy clinics, etc, that all deal with this stuff. I would imagine a lot of people are in need, but I didn't realize this would be just a maze trying to find a place to take it (or call me back, etc).

I would otherwise leave it on the curb and hope someone who needed it would take it. My " gross" stuff (exersaucer and jumper) that have spit up probably caked-in in several places are definitely going in the garbage!

For stuff that's worn out, broken, missing pieces, or gross, I would toss it.

If you have lots of stuff that's in good condition, I'd have a yard sale. That's what I think I'll do once all my kids are older.

I gave some stuff to my parish. They then donate it to places like Birthright.

Babies R Us is supposed to be having their annual Trade In Event in the next few weeks. You bring in your old items and you get a 25% off coupon for a new item.

If you plan on reusing your car seat, make sure it has not expired. If not, it's good to go. If it is, please do not do anything but cut the straps and toss in the trash.

I would just pass it on to any friends or family members who want them.

but you can also trade it in at babies r us. or donate it. or toss if it is really worn.

We did a combo of giving away, donating and selling.

You can try a facebook buy/sell group. Otherwise I usually donate stuff to Big brother/big sister and they have a truck that comes to pick your donation up (although i'd check to see if they take baby items first).
