Potty Trained Overnight
At what age was your child in underwear overnight? My DD is 3.5 and has been potty trained since 2.5 She wakes up every morning with like 10 pounds of pee in her diaper.
She has gone through a couple days here and there of waking up dry, but then goes back to peeing in her sleep. Our ped told us this is not something you can control, it's something that will just end one day, even if shes like 7.
She drinks a lot of water throughout the day, and before bed she does have water & fruit as a snack. I feel bad limiting her water in take if she is thirsty. I wouldn't want someone telling me I couldn't drink if I was thirsty.
Did your child just stop going overnight, do you do anything else?
Thanks!

Potty Trained Overnight
DD started wearing underwears overnight at a little over 3 yo. She drinks a lot of water during the day but I make sure she goes to the bathroom before bed time.

Re: Potty Trained Overnight
DD is 3.5 also and still pee pees at night (a ton!). I actually think she holds it the whole night and then pees as soon as she wakes up. She also wears pull ups for naps. That being said, I think at some point I just have to bite the bullet and keep her in her undies. I think at this point she is partly going because she knows she has a pull up on.
Her cousin is 5 and still wears pull ups at night. Hopefully that isn't genetic (actually I heard it was)!

Re: Potty Trained Overnight
DD is almost 4.5 and is no where NEAR overnight undies. She wakes up with a full diaper (in many ways) every day. I'm afraid to put her in a pull up because it would leak. My Ped said some kids aren't night trained until 6 or 7, and I'm ok with that. DD is ok with that too. I'm going to take some steps when she gets closer to 5 on working on it. Right now I'm just leaving it as is....

Re: Potty Trained Overnight
My DS is almost 3.5 and still wears a pull-up to bed and wakes wet. He hasn't had a conscious accident and has been full trained for almost a year!
His ped said that nighttime bed wetting is not something you can train or control. Its a hormone they produce that wakes them to pee between the ages of 2-7. She said even her own DD wore pull-ups until she was 5! I am hoping DS develops this sooner than later.

Re: Potty Trained Overnight
It's funny because DD was a nightmare to poop train but once she was pee trained, she never ever had a nighttime accident. She always held it until morning- from the time she was trained.

Potty Trained Overnight
DS potty trained at 2.5 and was night trained from that point. we never even gave diapers at night once we started training. He has only had 2 accidents and both times it was because we didn't make sure he fully went before bed.

Re: Potty Trained Overnight
My oldest is 4 and is finally night time trained but it's been a long road. We just took her out of night time pull ups a few months ago. We do wake her at 11 and put her on the potty. She is constant poop holder so I think that affects her ability to hold it during 12 hours of sleep. As long as we put her on at 11 she holds it until morning.
My youngest has been daytime/nighttime trained since she was 19 months. She just loved the potty and refused to wear pull ups for bed. I was so worried but she just held it.

Our ped told us that you can not train for over night, it is something that comes naturally. DS1 potty trained at 2.5 but wore a pullup at night until he was 4. Ds2 trained at 2.5 and never needed a pullup in the night at all.

Yup, it's physiological, you can't train them to not go at night.
DD was potty trained by her 2nd birthday, she's now just over 3 and still wears a pull up at night that is saturated in the morning.

Re: Potty Trained Overnight
My girls were trained 100% from the get-go; one was 2yrs 9 mos and the other was 3 exactly.
My son was trained at 2yrs 9 mos and 18 mos later, he's still wearing a pull-up at night, but he's waking up dry more often than not now, so I think we're close to the finish line

Re: Potty Trained Overnight
I'd say she was night trained before we did the day thing. She woke up dry for a few days straight and I decided to go for it. Never had an issue. If she doesn't go before bed she will wake up at 3 or 4, call me to go potty and then back to bed. Happened all at once just past her 3rd birthday.

Potty Trained Overnight
DS wore underpants to bed when we were potty training. The method I used was no diapers, cold turkey LOL
He had a couple of accidents here & there. Then he just learned to either hold it, or get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.
The one thing I can suggest is layer up on the fitted sheets and between each layer, put down some wee wee pads. It saves so much time if there is an overnight accident.

Re: Potty Trained Overnight
DS is 4 and still wets the bed at night. he'll have a few days of being dry and then have another accident. i think he holds it most of the night, but then in the morning, when he's close to waking up and not in deep sleep, he wets himself. i was the same way. if it's genetic, we have quite a few more years to go!

This. You can't night train. It just has to happen. My DS has been potty trained since 25 months old, but just got night trained when he turned 5. I waited until he woke up dry for 2 weeks straight then took the leap. He was fine and we haven't looked back. No bed wetting or anything! He was just ready. I hope it happens soon for you, but just know if it doesn't it's ok.

DS is 3yo and we just did the 3 Day Method for training, so we did day and night together. Hes only in underwear and wakes up dry, but we do limit drinks 2-3 hours before bed and nap- sips etc are ok, no big glasses.
ETA- He never woke up with a dry diaper, always really wet. Since limiting late drinks that changed, as well as listening for as soon as he starts to stir in the morning so he is aware if he has to go
