Sick kids and babysitting
I'm so torn
My DD threw up yesterday and has a high ish fever 103.5 today
One of the kids I treated (I am a pt) for 12 years passed away and I want to go to his funeral tomorrow.
The last time I asked my mom to watch my sick kid at xmass time we have her the stomach virus and subsequently spread it to 10 other people.
Also my sister is here visiting with my 3 mo old niece and I don't want my mom to get sick and not be able to see her.
Dh has a big meeting tom and can't come home.
I'm so sad and torn on what to do.

Re: Sick kids and babysitting
I'm sorry, what a sad thing to happen! As much as I would also want to go, I would probably skip it and stay home with DC. I would feel terrible if another family member were sick for Christmas.

I'm so sorry for your loss! Honestly, if it were me, I would find a way to go. Hopefully your LO's fever will go down by tomorrow.

I agree as well. Plus you can't be sure that YOU are not carrying the stomach bug right now. It would be terrible to spread it to a ton of people at the funeral right before Christmas.

yup- I agree. I would feel bad not going to the funeral... BUT I think I would feel even worse if I got a lot of people sick right before Christmas (especially your patients family who is grieving right now) and, I agree that YOU might even be carrying the stomach virus right now, and could get a lot of people sick shaking hands/hugging and what not at the funeral. I would stay home and rest and let the germs clear out a little bit. sorry

I would send a card for now and stop by to offer your condolences and maybe drop off a meal once everyone is healthy.
