Is there a protocol for dealing with lack of RSVP from classmates?

My son's 3rd birthday party is next Saturday, 12/6. We are inviting his classmates for the first time this year. Last Friday, I sent all the invites to school in his backpack, with each child's name on them, and asked the teacher to send them home. I have gotten 3 responses out if 13 so far. I'm anticipating a giant lack of response by the RSVP date. I don't have anyone's number. Could I ask the teacher to send home a note in their notebooks or something? Or do I just need to suck it up and take a guess?

I would just take a guess. I don't like to ask the teacher's help with party stuff, ya know?

Dd's 4th bday party is also on the 6th. I mailed invites home to a large handful if kids in her class about 2 weeks ago. As of today half of the parents did not respond. It infuriates me but it is out of my control. Some parents just dont have the same values I guess.

My problem is HOW to follow up. I don't have any contact info for the parents.

My DS teacher sends home weekly emails, so I would just copy and paste the addresses and send an email of my own. If you do t have that option, I would ask the school for an email list for the class.

you can send in reminder notes the teacher can put in their bins ( or whatever the class has)

Just an fyi - in my ds 3yo class I have seen those invites and reminders get lost, put in wrong cubbies etc.

I agree, is there anyway you can go in and place them in each cubbie. Or if you are working, a friend that has a kid in the class could?

I started a looonnnggg thread this same topic about 2 weeks ago if you want to search it. Unfortunately there is little you can do and even with follow up emails, some people wont respond. Its frustrating, I know. I feel for you! Good luck.

do you have a class mom??
she should have the contact information (typically email) for each child/parent.
With DD's bday I sent a follow up email and was shocked at how many said yes after not hearing a thing for weeks.

Thanks ladies. I don't have emails or numbers for anyone, and there is no class mom. I think I'll send in little reminder notes and ask the teacher to send them home in the notebooks. Thanks for the suggestions!
