Xmas pic's blue & gray vs. green & red
I purchased DS Xmas outfit over the weekend. We are having Xmas pic's taken next weekend. I picked out a really adorable blue and gray outfit. Well I have been getting an earful from family on how blue and gray will totally not work for Xmas pic's and I need to get something else asap. Everything in red, green etc was sold out in his size. It's so hard shopping with an infant to go to multiple stores. I think he will look adorable in this outfit but am now second guessing myself. What color schemes are you ladies using for holiday pic's?

I never do red and green. My dd is five years old and in the past she has worn, ivory. Black, purple, pink/black. This year we now have DS and they will both be wearing black/ ivory. Get what you like. There is no rule to what color has to be worn.

I put DS in navy velvet with gold trim last year (he was 6 weeks old. I got DDs ivory & gold dresses to coordinate. There is nothing wrong with blue and grey.

DD and I both wore a jewel blue dress last year. DS wore a matching blue & white sweater. Pics looked stunning. Def very holiday!
Our Xmas photos are usually done in the fall & are whatever they are wearing that day (last year, purple & beige). We do causal photos!

Sorry - this one gets an from me. WHO CARES what your family says? WHO makes this lame rules? I want to know where they come from -
I never dress my kids in anything 'holiday' themed or colored etc - I dress them appropriately for an ocassion based on the cutness factor .......
If youi like blue and grey and the outfit is adorable - go for it. He's going to look adorable no matter what color he wears!

Xmas pic's blue & gray vs. green & red
I like blue and gray; it still creates a winter atmosphere. Two years ago our card was cream with pops of primary colors. Last year it was neon colors. Definitely not traditional Christmas colors. I think nontraditional can be more interesting and eye-catching.

This. I can't imagine calling up my sister or other family member and giving them an "earful" about the colors they picked for their holiday pictures. Who does this? Really? Tell people to mind their own business.

Re: Xmas pic's blue & gray vs. green & red
I love blue for Christmas!
My DH, who never has an opinion on anything, insists we stick to red or green for Christmas, so I did. But I see nothing wrong with blue/gray and would go for it!
As a matter of fact, my fave old Xmas pic of my brother and me has us both in dark blue velvet with white collars. My mom added a satin red ribbon to my dress to make it a little more festive.

I get so many cards with non traditional colors. I never even use my dd's actual christmas dress in her pics. Do what you want. I feel like holiday pics are so flexible!

DD wore a red and black dress in her pic and then I ended up picking a light blue card with red writing. Do what you want and don't feel bad about it! I'm sure he'll look adorable!

Do what you want! I have never done red and green... I have never done the traditional holiday plaid... I have never done the frilly over the top dress. I have always done non traditional photos with outfits I love! Don't care what color; design; anything. If I fall in love that's all I need! I always get an earful from my mother (who has zero sense of style LOL or trends LOL) and I just ignore it. If you listen to other peoples advice you would get nowhere fast LOL
