Holiday Clothing Poll

When I first had DD I wouldn't have even thought to buy her dress before December. She is now 3, and I have learned I have to get one in Oct/ early Nov to get a good selection. I also need it earlier to get her pictures taken, so I can get Christmas cards out.

When do you usually purchase your childrens holiday clothing? Just wondering if most people start early since all the stores have them out in October, or you wait...

Re: Holiday Clothing Poll

I do most shopping online, so when I knew the stores had the holiday clothes out I started looking. I found dd's dress on the gymboree website and bought it when they were having their everything $16.99 and under sale. I figured at that price why wait. Now this is my first time buying a holiday outfit for my ds and I have no clue what to get. I wanted them to match, but her dress is gold, so I'm still working on it.

I am usually an early shopper. This year I let my brother in law pick whatever he wanted. He loves to shop, loves designer...so I trust him.

And then I don't have to pay. LOL

The first year I waited too long so now I shop 2 months before the holiday. I'm keeping an eye out for New Years outfits now.

I did September but only because I wanted to use a groupon I had at target and it had to be used by October 15th so I made the appointment that weekend. DD dress I had already someone gave it to me. DS I was looking for most of September and I couldn't find anything really. I felt a lot of stores got selections in some time in October cause of course after i took the pictures I saw a bunch of outfits that would have went with DD dress

I think I got it Labor Day. Carters was doing 50% off the entire store and I had a 25% off coupon so I just grabbed it since they had them out already. I figured I wouldn't get it cheaper than that...

Re: Holiday Clothing Poll

So far we had hand me down dresses & they have been perfect.
I usually run out a few days before to buy stockings, shoes or other things I forget to get.

Normally, I am a late shopper but this year I was scheduled for a photo shoot early so I ended up buying things in October. I must say, it's a far better selection then. Usually I'm mixing and matching and sweating in the store.

Re: Holiday Clothing Poll

I dress my boys up for the holidays, always - but I never buy them 'holdiay' themed clothing or colors.

So, I whenever I see something seasonally appropriate that I like - I get it.

For Example: Thanksgiving my 3 year old is wearing an orange gingham button down I bought on sale in June ....and a navy cardigan w/ orange/white stripes
My older son is wearing a navy v neck sweater over a button down
