Reflux and bottles
If baby has reflux, does the bottle really make a difference? If reflux has to do with the weak esophageal sphincter and such, will the type of bottle really matter? Just wondering if I should try a different bottle. We use Dr. Browns now.

Reflux and bottles
My DS had reflux and we used Dr Browns. I tried a bunch of other bottles. Dr Brown was the best for us.

Re: Reflux and bottles
DS had reflux when he was born. Our ped GI told us the bottle didn't matter.
We used Dr Brown's.

Re: Reflux and bottles
I think the flow of the nipple is more important than the bottle. I stuck with a slow flow nipple for much longer than most because anytime I would increase the nipple flow she'd start drinking too fast and spitting up like a volcano again.

i found the same with DS who had a mild case of reflux we tried so many bottles, but the what worked for him was the dr browns preemie nipple. We eventually got him to the stage 1/slow flow nipple and we were able to use any bottle at that point (which was good since i had about 4 different ones)

Reflux and bottles
Its more so the flow and shape of nipple. My dd had reflux was terrible with dr brown. Nipple was small she never closed her mouth around the base well which led to more air getting in and causing her to spit up more. Switched to playtex nursers and was on them until she was off bottles.
