Trick-or-treating Question
I have an 11 Month old DD and I was not going to take her Trick or treating this year. We dont have any other kids in the fam or cousins or anything yet. But I feel kinda bad not taking her for a little bit. I am going to take her to the Library and to my job that day to show off her costume. We went to Babies R US for the Babies 1st Halloween party and she loved holding out her little bucket and when they put stuff in it she was all smiles. Would you take her even though she can't eat the candy or is it silly?

Re: Trick-or-treating Question
For DS 1st Halloween (he was not even 2 month old) we dressed him and took him to our 5 closest neighbors just to say hi and so they could see DS. We tried to wave off the candy, but a couple insisted (obviously they didn't want it sitting in their house.) If we hadn't been friendly with them we probably wouldn't have bothered.

Trick-or-treating Question
DD was 8 months old for her first Halloween and I brought her out only because she had older cousins that we walked around with. If it were just DD I wouldn't have bothered. If you want to take her out check out the Trick or Treating at Broadway Mall - I think it is from 3p-6p.

Trick-or-treating Question
My DD was just 1 for her second Halloween and she loved giving candy out to the trick or treaters! We took her to the neighbors houses and we have a lot of kids in the neighborhood so she loved watching them come up to the door

Trick-or-treating Question
I took AJ at 2m hahaha She never ate the candy until 4yrs old maybe? Its just the fun of collecting them. We even used them to practice sorting. We still dump nearly 98% of all candy we get. At 1yr tho... we had no where to go. She was all dressed up but we were new to San Antonio and so we didn't go out. I was so sad.
I totally made up for it on year 2 and since.

Re: Trick-or-treating Question
Many places have safe trick or treating and I know our library has a Halloween parade. I would take her to those places. I personally wouldn't walk around the neighborhood (unless it's to visit some of the neighbors!)

Re: Trick-or-treating Question
You could always take her to a couple of houses, I'm sure your neighbors would love to see her dressed up. Do you live close to family? We took our dd at that age just to the family that lives around us, so they could see her costume.

Trick-or-treating Question
I think we will take her on our block and then to Grammys. We are still fairly new to the area so we will be home to answer the door. Our block is mostly older folks who would prob get a kick out seeing her. Thanks for the input everyone!

My DS was 2 months old at his first Halloween. I just took him to the immediate neighbors more to show him off than anything.

That's what we did - just went to the neighbors we were friendliest with.

DD was 11 months her first Halloween (during Hurricane Sandy), I dressed her up and took her over to our neighbors just to show her off. We really didn't care about the candy - any candy that we got we ended up eating
