Vacation with a baby
Hi! I’m due in a week or so, but trying to plan a vacation for the spring/early summer. My little one will be about 6 months or so and since he is our first, we have NO idea what to expect. Any advice on vacation spots we can take him and still enjoy ourselves for a week or so?
We're pretty relaxed and up for anything, so all suggestions are welcome. TIA!

Re: Vacation with a baby
What about a beach vacation? We took our DS to Myrtle Beach when he was 9 months and we had a great time.

Re: Vacation with a baby
Been going to Aruba for years. DS1 was 9 months old first time and DS2 was 6 months old. Honestly 6 months was easier bc he wasn't crawling yet so not all over.
I agree with beach vacation. There are so many great baby beach gadgets out now it makes it so easy to bring a baby. Fresh air helps them sleep a lot too.

Vacation with a baby
We took DS to Barbados when he was just 5 months old. It was a different vacation for me than ever just having a baby with us and him still getting up to nurse during the night. No drinking during the day really since I couldn't always time his nursing schedule. BUT it was so much fun taking him into the ocean and playing on the beach. He was so easy at that age; he just slept in the carrier/car seat if we were walking around or going out to eat at night.
It was a very relaxing trip. I bought a beach tent for DS so he could nap outside and we weren't confined to the room. It worked really well for us. I also bought a travel bath tub since the bathroom only had a standing shower.

Re: Vacation with a baby
We took DS to Cape May when he was about nine months.
It was wonderful.
We stayed at Congress Hall - very family friendly. The beach and pool were GREAT.

Vacation with a baby
My mom went to St. Simons Island in Georgia and all she could talk about was how DH and I should take our baby there one day and that it would be perfect for a family with a very small child.

Rent a beach house!!! We've been taking our kids since they were babies, and it is definitely the best way to go at that age. We usually go to Outer Banks, NC or Kure Beach, NC. We've also done Hilton Head, SC before.

We went to Puerto Rico when DD was that age. No passport needed and short flight!
