Montessori parents?
How many years did you send your LO to Montessori. If you chose to leave did they make you feels guilty? We chose it for my DD after seeing seveal different types of programs, but never thought she would stay more than a year or 2. If she is going to return in the fall, she needs to register no later than January 15. The director has already implied on many occasions that she wants to see DD return next year. We mentioned we were exploring other options now that she is getting older and there are more programs available in her age range. Today I get a phone call from the headmaster informing us they would like to offer DD a schlorship to return. I am torn. She loves it there, but I have mixed feelings about their strong views on autonomy and independence. DD has grown tremendously but I am already starting to see this "I can do whatever I want" attitude from her which I am not loving.

Montessori parents?
3 years from 2 until 5 years old. I took her out because 1. She needed to get used to a classroom environment and understand she must tag along or keep up with a class. I figured kindergarten was the best place since most kids would be all over the map. 2.expensive as heck 3. I had other issues with this school

Re: Montessori parents?
I love, love, love our Montessori. It is a "traditional" Montessori.
DS loves it & it has developed his thinking in amazing ways. The school teaches him application of knowledge.
Just about everyone ends up leaving in our area around K. Our school district is awesome & we pay high taxes for it. If I could freeze him in these classrooms for life, I would, as far as student mix and teachers. DS loves learning.
We chose our home based on school district & will be taking him out for k.
I do, however, think Montessori models the way classrooms of the future will look & feel with flipped classroom design & student led discussions. If DS hates his school district, he'd go back without another thought.
Also, if I lived in another school district, I'd consider keeping him in. So far, DS has learned more than kids in other pre k in the area.

Re: Montessori parents?
Honestly, they probably want her to return because they don't want to lose the $$.
Montessori is not for everyone--if you don't feel your daughter is growing and learning the way you'd like, then I'd put her elsewhere.
