Wake up calls at 5 am

ugggg the past 2 days my LO insisted on being up at 5 am
He will not go back to bed- (he is 6 months) I gave him his paci, toys etc and all he wants to do is come out and play

I know you are all going to say-let him cry or is he hungry etc

Well I can't let him cry it out because we live in and apartment and 5 am on a sat or Sunday is just not nice at all.

He is not hungry because he eats at 1:30 am and once he is out playing or watching tv he is quiet - changed his diaper etc

I have him on a feeding schedule that did work for us, I'm afraid if I feed him again and put back to bed it will mess things up for. Weekday- we need to be fed and out by 8 am.

I am exhausted, my DH works overnight so it's just me and I am exhausted- and this is how i start my work week

Anyone else been here? Any suggestions?
I am so jealous of all the babies who sleep thru the night

Re: Wake up calls at 5 am

Went through it with my youngest until he was almost 13 months but most times it was 4-430am. Depending on the days, I would bring him into bed with me to just snuggle & hope that he would fall back asleep. Some days he did & others he did not. I would be exhausted but especially on weekends, when he napped, I napped. It was the only way to manage

My ds still gets up at 5 am and he's almost 2. It started around 4-5 months and never stopped. Like the pp said, I would being him into bed with me some mornings and hoped he'd fall back asleep, but otherwise when he would nap, so would I.

I have a similar situation as you, that we live in a 6 person house and I couldn't do CIO based on that alone. Sometimes we just have kids that are early risers and that's it. It sucks, lol.

Ds will now wake up early but he entertains himself in the crib for a bit before I go and get him. Just saying that there can be a light at the end of this very long tunnel.

All that aside, could he be teething? My ds gets up earlier when he's teething.

Hopefully it's a phase! Sorry no real advice, just here to say hang in there and offer support. Chat Icon

Wake up calls at 5 am

I just posted about this. My DD is going to be 7 months on Tuesday and her wake up is 3/4 am. Today I got to sleep till 430. I rocked her and she took her bottle and she eventually went back to sleep. Till 6 months she was a decent sleeper, I hope this is just a phase. My DH works crazy hours and it's all on me, oh the circles under my eyes. Good luck!!!

DD woke up between 5-5:30 am every. single. morning. since she was born until about 13 months. Around 13 months she started to sleep until 6am... She is 26 months now and wakes up between 6am-6:30am every. single. morning. I am VERY TIRED. lol.

Wake up calls at 5 am

DD (7m) wakes up early around 5-6. We just give her a bottle and she will go right back to sleep until it's time to get up. If we have to wake her, we do. Her daytime schedule usually remains the same.

I used to always bring her in my bed and she would snooze a little longer

Re: Wake up calls at 5 am

I officially am joining this club. I've been up since 10 to five. My ds is so good, but always wakes up this early. ughh even though I have today off. He is now back to sleep, I wish I could do the same.
