Recommend a great new baby gift!
Please recommend a unique gift for a new baby boy. The parents did not have a baby shower or register so I have no clue what they already have or need. I usually like to gift keepsake-type gifts but I cant find anything that I like. My mom already gave them a handmade blanket so I don't want to give anything like that and I don't want to give them a money or a gift card.

2 gifts we got that aren't for a newborn but are useful as they get older:
PBK anywhere chair and a small wood step stool with their name

They have one for a new baby and it goes through spelling out the baby's name with a different animal for each letter - and works it into a story.
In the beginning it prints "To the Smith Family - Congratulations on the arrival of BABY NAME. With Love, the Jones Family"
And it is just the sweetest thing.
I also love, on Pottery Barn Kids' website - they have a keepsake wooden block...
Site is blocked at work but look at the wooden block in the personalized and keepsake section.
