What age to start "lower" fat milk?
DD1 is 2.5yo and has been drinking whole milk since she was 1yo. What age do you typically switch from whole milk to 2%? DD2 will be 1yo in April so she'll have whole milk at that point. I'd prefer to buy the same milk for both of them but if that's too much milk fat for DD1 of course we'll do what's healthiest for her.

What age to start
I switched to skim milk at 2 years old. I actually buy the Over the Moon Brand or Skim Plus Brand vs actual Skim Milk.

I think I switched DS at age 4. He was always in the 10%ile for weight so ped said to was fine to stick with whole milk. DD is 18 months and probably won't switch her over until 3. Unless she suddenly decides to eat and gain some weight!

DD was on 2% from the time we switched bc they didn't or don't make an organic lactose free whole milk. Our ped was and is fine with DD drinking 2%

I would say around 3 when they stopped really drinking milk and I was tired of buying 2 types of milk. My boys are on the slim side so the fat was good for them.

We are still giving whole milk at 3y1m but DS doesnt drink huge amounts of it and is slim. I am no longer a stickler for making sure all dairy he gets is full fat though, we buy some yogurt squeezers that I believe are 2%.
