What age did your DC start milk?
We went to the ped yesterday and I asked about whole milk since we wouldn't be back til after she turns 1. The ped told me we could start it next week at 10 months. Is that young? I had thought at a year you switched. I trust my doc, but was jujst wondering when everyone else switched. Thanks!!

My Ds is only 7months, so he hasn't had milk yet, but my BF's son started milk at 9 months - my BF is one of 7 kids and her mother had her son one weekend and gave him milk and said "i gave each of you milk early on and you are all fine!" I figure as a mother of 7, if she didn't think it was a problem, it probably isn't a problem!

11.5 months he had it here and there for taste. 1 week after his first birthday we weaned him into it.

If baby is getting enough vitamins and minerals from solid foods then I dont see why you cant start milk soon. Go by your gut, if you think its too early then wait a month, wont hurt.

around 1 year I started mixing with formula... but we didnt make complete switch until 14 months when we ran out of formula...

Personally, I did not want to switch before a year. DD was actually close to 13 months before she was on whole milk, b/c I was using up all the formula we had. I just liked that it had all those extra vitamins, etc.
