past ovarian cyst and pain
i pretty much always know when i ovulate. or at least i think i do. i feel a twinge throughout the day and when i check my tracker it's the day im supposed to be ovulating and it confirms it.
this last time, the pain was a lot worse.. it was pain, not a twinge.
ive had 2 ruptured cysts in my life that i know of. 1, about 4 years ago and the other last year. the first one, i didint know what it was. severe pain..then it subsided. i went to get a ct scan, thinking it was my appendix ,the following day or two and the tech told me they saw some activity in my uterus. my gyn, who i saw a week later, told me no way because i never had a cyst before. the second one, more severe, i thought again that it was appendix related and it turns out to be diagnosed as a ruptured cyst. so looking back, im pretty positive that thats what the first time was.
could the pain i felt this past time be a cyst? when i had them, i never felt pain that just went away, just bloating, uneasiness, and then the pain came when it ruptured. this lasted for a day, then it was gone.

Re: past ovarian cyst and pain
I have multiple cysts on both ovaries and I cant even walk during ovulation. The pain is so intense. I have had cysts my entire life (was on bc for a while because of them). I have had ruptured ones in my past that ended me in the ER thinking it was appendicitis.. and always around the time of ovulation! I think it sounds like a definite cyst.

past ovarian cyst and pain
It's normal to develop cysts sometimes during your cycle. Size and location can vary which can then effect the pain. You may have even had ones that you never noticed. I have one that never goes away on the outside of one of my tubes. My GYN says it shouldn't be a problem. The pain I feel is from it inflating and deflating throughout my cycle. Whenever I get concerned I see the dr. So I can at least ease my mind. Good luck to you

Re: past ovarian cyst and pain
If its not a constant pain you may not have to.. Unless you want to for peace of mind. It is very common for cysts to form with your cycles and most of the time you probably dont even feel them. Mine that I mentioned are different, they need to be surgically removed (eventually) and I am monitored every 6 months. I just know the pain you are referring to as I have dealt with this since I was 14.

Re: past ovarian cyst and pain
ugh. im so sorry for you! i've only dealt with them a few times and the one i had last year was awful! i handle pain well, and this brought me to tears.
im just scared that it's going to affect my fertility.
i had an annual exam aug 12 and it was fine, no mention of cysts. BUT, i did think i may have had something going on after that because i had pain on my right side during sex...and then just a few days ago on my O day, i felt it on my right again.
if it is just a cyst here and there, is there anything the gyn would even find now?
