If you took Lovenox...
a few questions:
1. Any tips for doing the injections at the very end? I am 35.5 weeks and its getting a lot harder. I started laying down which freed up a little loose skin at first but now I am pretty short on that even laying down.
2. Did you switch to heparin at 37 weeks? How did things differ on heparin?
3. When did you deliver? Kofinas warned that heparin triggers labor in a few people, but most go past 39 weeks.

- No tips as I just did the best I could. Just tried to travel around the side so it was never in the sae spot.

- I switched at 36 weeks and thank god I did. I was only on it about 5 days when I went into labor.
3. When did you deliver? Kofinas warned that heparin triggers labor in a few people, but most go past 39 weeks.
- I delivered at exactly 37 weeks.

Re: If you took Lovenox...
1. Towards the end I would try to lean to the side that I was giving the shot on to get a little more skin to grip. 2. I switched to hep with all three kids. I found them to be easier. For me they burned less. A little annoying that it's twice a day not once but it's an easy shot. 3. -ds1 switched at 36w he was induced at exactly 38 due to low fluid and lack of growth -dd I was switched at 35w since I was having contractions early and they wanted me switched in time. She was induced at 38.5w -ds2 switched at 36w he was induced at 38w6d. If I waited with ds2 I would have been almost 40w and they were concerned about the placenta.

Re: If you took Lovenox...
1- you can probably inject in a bigger area than you're using. You should ask them at the dr.
2- I switched at 37 weeks. There was no difference besides that I was using an injection twice a day as opposed to once.
3- I never heard that. I had issues with preterm labor so I was convinced that once I stopped meds and did the switch to heparin at 37 weeks, it would just be a matter of days. Well, I made it to my scheduled csection at 39 1/2 weeks. I'm surprised he told you most go beyond 39 weeks. In my experience anyway, he said he wouldn't let me go past my due date and I heard that was true for most people.

He doesnt want me to go past my due date either -- I'm due on a Fri so I am assuming I would be induced early the following week if I dont go into labor on my own before then. That would be my preference to being induced on my actual due date, and I'm pretty sure hospitals dont schedule elective inductions on weekends. My OB probably wouldnt want to at least

Re: If you took Lovenox...
1. I always sat down when doing the injections and inject closer to love handle area. I never pinched the skin.
2. I think it was closer to 36 weeks when I went to Heparin. I hated drawing up the Heparin in the syringe, but other than that the only difference was taking the Heparin 2x a day.
3. With my first I delivered around 38 weeks, I do not think it triggered labor. But I was not able to have the epi because when I went into labor it was less than 12 hours since my last dose of Heparin. With #2 I was smarter and knew not to take the Heparin when I started to have regular contractions. But again I still don't think it triggered labor. I was scheduled for a C-section at 39w2d (baby breech), but ended up going into labor at 38w5d.

Doing the injections at the very end was hard. I just tried to go more towards the side but honestly it did not get any easier.
2. Did you switch to heparin at 37 weeks? How did things differ on heparin?
I did not switch to heparin with my twin pregnancy because i delivered at 32 weeks. They almost had to knock me out to do my c-section. With my singleton I begged Kofinas to start heparin at 32 weeks because I was scared of preterm labor again. Heparin was twice a day.
3. When did you deliver? Kofinas warned that heparin triggers labor in a few people, but most go past 39 weeks.
I delivered on my scheduled c-section date. 39 weeks exactly.

I switch to heparin at 36 weeks. For me it was the same but found more annoying bc I have to do heparin 3 times a day instead of one and I have to draw it myself
3. When did you deliver? Kofinas warned that heparin triggers labor in a few people, but most go past 39 weeks.
I'm not allowed to go past 38 weeks With dd 1 I was indiced 37w1 or 2 days due to lack of growth and hurricane sandy

If you took Lovenox...
I don't have any tips unfortunately. I did switch to my thighs at the end. Not sure if that helps.
I switched to heparin at 36wks and carried both babies to 39+ and delivered at 39-3 and 39-4.
Good luck!!!
