Playdate question - Pre-K age
So DS started pre-k this year. there is only one other boy in the class with him and they, of course, hit it off. I would love to get them together for a playdate, but as silly as it sounds, how does that work these days?
Is it strange to assume that DS could go to his house for a few hours and I would pick him up later on and vice versa (which I would have no issue with at all)... or would it be best to assume I stay there? Or do we just meet at a park for the first few times to get familar with the parent?
Remember the good ol' days when your mom would just drop you off and pick you up later, no quetions asked?!

Play dates at this age involve parents staying, unless you are good friends w the mom.

Re: Playdate question - Pre-K age
At that age I wouldn't feel comfortable doing a drop off playdate with someone I never met. Maybe get together with the mom at a park or somewhere in public. Playground, etc. This way if you like the mom you can invite them over and let the kids play. My DS became good friends with two boys from his preschool and now they're in kindergarten. We still all get together bc I love the two moms. We actually have done a fun "girl's night" without the kids and husbands and have done BBQ's together as the families. The husbands became friendly as well. It's a nice way to make new friends and feel comfortable enough eventually to do a drop off. that's JMO

That's the ultimate bonus, right?!
Thanks!
