Renting house for a week on Fire Island
Anyone have any tips? Best to use a realtor? Anyone have someone they recommend? TIA!

We found a place on homeaway.com . The town you stay in depends on what you are looking for (families, close to everything, loud group, etc).
When we go we have as much as our stuff , esp food and drinks shipped so we don't have to deal with it on the ferry or pay the island prices for things.

We used VRBO. Once you narrow down your search you can communicate directly with the owners of the properties to ask any questions or request additional details. There are also often reviews on the listings. The house we rented was pricey for what we got but such a lovely vacation and no travel costs aside from the ferry and possibly parking.
