Need some potty training advice

My son is 2y9m and decided to start potty training himself about a week ago. He is doing amazingly well, is now completely pee trained. But he can't seem to grasp the poop aspect. I know this is really common, but my oldest got both at the same time (he was about 6 months older though), so I've never dealt with this. Any tips for working on it? Or is it just something that will come when he's ready? It literally seems like something is just not clicking for him with the idea of pooping in the potty.

I think it just has to click when he's ready. My DD has the same problem and pushing the issue only made her withhold her poop. So for now, she wears a pull-up to bed and poops at some point when waking.

I tried getting her up and putting her on the potty first thing but it just made her upset.
