When/How Did You Wean From Bottle
DD is 13 mos old. I'd like to start weaning her from bottles shortly. Right now, she gets three bottles a day, morning, noon, and night roughly. She gets bottles separately from meals.
She transitioned really well to whole milk so I'm concerned she won't drink as much from the sippy. She's been drinking water out of the sippy since six mos old. When she's thirsty, she will drink but when she's not she makes a game of it and spits out the water. I can't tell you how many water puddles I clean up a day. I will not be doing that with milk.
So do you give milk with meals or separately? How can I ensure she actually drinks it and not refuse or spit it it out? Do you give in the high chair? I'm particularly concerned about the night bottle since it's big part of bedtime routine. Thanks.

Re: When/How Did You Wean From Bottle
My DS took himself off bottles right before he was a year old.
I went cold turkey with my DD at 17 months.
With my DD her milk consumption dropped but I didn't really care because she was eating three square meals a day and snacks at that point. Milk was just a beverage with meals, not her main source of nutrition.
My DS just gets full sippy cups with milk at meals and mostly drink it all. In between meals I give him cold water in a sippy.

Somewhere just before the year mark. I simply stopped giving her bottles and gave her cups. She took very well to the cups...

Not until 2. At a year we dropped to only morning and night. That was easy. We went on a trip just after he was 2 and didn't bring any bottles. It was a perfect transition.
There is no need to rush it. Also milk is really just about the calcium so if they don't drink as much milk add in cheese and yogurt where possible
