"exercise" for toddlers
What activities do you do with your toddler to get them moving? I need some new ideas. I feel like DD doesn't get enough physical activity during the day and she resists some of the games I try doing with her (dancing/songs that have exercise in it, kicking a ball). She squats a lot, runs around, climbs/walks up and down stairs... but still wondering what other activities I could introduce her to that get her moving and tire her out. Share please!
ETA: DD just turned 2.

I know it might not be able to be an every day thing, but while the weather is nice do you have a playground nearby? My dd also loves to go on walks and push her baby doll stroller. She loves to pop bubbles and runs around the yard chasing them to pop.

I used to play follow the leader. I'd play some Laurie Berkner or other kids music, and march, dance, spin, stomp, etc around the house. Lol.

My dd loves to play 'gonna get you' which is basically tag. I just pretend I'm going to get her and she runs away laughing. To prolong her activity I give it a while before I actually catch her. Then I turn around and start jogging away slowly encouraging her to get me. Bubbles are also great for getting little ones moving. Dd loves to chase them.

Re: "exercise" for toddlers
My DS is a little older, almost 3, and besides running all day long, he is starting soccer this fall, and did zumbini last year. ETA: We spend a lot of time at playground.

Re: "exercise" for toddlers
I was also going to suggest "I'm gonna get you!" and bubbles.
My DD is still a little young, but you can also incorporate make-believe and physical activity (I.e. While playing "house" walk to the "store", pretend you are exploring outer space and run around looking at things, take "vacations" and pack, fly an airplane with arms up and running around, etc.) - I used to do stuff like that with my nephews all the time, and boy would I get out of breath!

How old? My kids don't stop moving.
I agree with the poster that said no strollers. This makes normal activities into hikes for kids.
We also turn off the TV. The kids just move all day long without it.
Dance music is fun. I get out and shake my booty too. DS is a REALLY good dancer.

Agree, no stroller. DD who is 3.5 hasn't been in a stroller in over a yr. She plays tag with the neighborhood kids, and other made up games in the street, they are always running like lunatics. When she was 2 I bought her a Micro scooter, which she still loves and uses, as well as her tricycle. Also, she likes pushing her babies in the doll stroller and going for wallks.
