nyc guidance counselors - contract ?
What does the new contract do to our work hours?

I went to the guidance meeting with Carmen farina on Tuesday and they said the hours are still the same 6 1/2 hours exclusive of lunch period.

nyc guidance counselors - contract ?
I think its up to you're school but my colleague and I decided that we would follow the teachers unless admin said otherwise, staying late mon tues and leaving when they do wed thurs fri. For us, if everyone is gone staying to 3 would be pointless anyway, we can't have team meeting with no teachers or counsel with no students lol I am fairly certain my admin will be cool with this bc otherwise we wont be around mon and tues when the teachers are there for the meetings and such.

My school is (unofficially) multi-session. My workday ends when half the teachers and a lot of kids are already gone. I use the time to respond to email/phone calls or paperwork. But that is awesome that you and your colleague can escape early!

Yeah MS schedule is very different, first period for example is always a major subject so that is 44 minutes where we are not w kids and can do parent outreach, paper work etc. Also since my collegue and I are lucky if we leave the building once a month for lunch I dont think admin would ever question our hours lol
