New NYC teacher contract
Can someone settle a dispute between DH and I (neither one of us are teachers by the way). He thinks a bunch of NYC teachers are going to automatically be bumped up to $100k a year now being that is the new max. salary. I tried to explain to him that just as in LI school districts, there are tiers based on years of employment and that determines the salary along with degree level. Am I right?

you are right. I am a NYC teacher I will see that in $100k probably when I am dead in the ground. You have to work forever to get it. You are basically on your way out (retiring) and have been in the system for years. You are also right about the different tiers. Hope this helps.
