Before/After School Care

Does anyone know what the going rate is for before-school and after-school care?

Entirely depends on the district. I don't use it, but ours is dirt cheap. $6 for am $8 for pm.

"my friends pay around 500 a month total"

Is this in a private home day care setting?

That is cheap. Any idea what it costs at a private home day care setting?

No clue..but home daycares are usually much cheaper than centers. I wouldn't expect to pay $500 a month like another person said. That's a bit much. My previous district charged about $10 a day for aftercare many years ago.

I pay 200 a month through the district for 5 days am and 3 days pm (if I did 5 days pm it would be 250). The hours are 7:10-9:10 am and 3:30-6 pm.

how do you set this up? call the school district? my DS is no where near school age just yet but nice to know for the future since I will definitely need before care.

Re: Before/After School Care

My son goes to aftercare through the scope program in my district, 5 days a week, until 6:30 it's $295 per month. If you do before and after care it's a little over $500 a month for full time. If you do part time (10 or fewer days a month) you pay less of a fee plus an additional cost per day if they go over the 10 days each month. Depending on what district you are in, I would see if they have scope. You can always call the district to see what programs they have. Good luck!

Re: Before/After School Care

DS starts kindergarten in Sept & thankfully his school offers before & after care. I'll only be needing the after care, but it's $13.50 per day for 3 hours I believe. Much cheaper & probably more fun for him than if I hired a sitter.
