Recommend your backpacks that will last throughout the year

DS's backpack for K was really beat up by the end of the year and the bottom started to wear out. We bought it at TRU. I'm looking for something that will hold up well throughout the year.

I've looked at PBK, but wasn't sure about the quality. I also looked at LL Bean, but didn't know whether the original would be too big for him or whether it was worth looking into the discovery backpacks.

Which backpacks held up well for your child?

My DD had a backpack from Disney Store for Kindergarten this year and it held up great! She could easily use it again if she wanted.

My son's PBK backpack and lunchbox are in great shape after a year of use. Using them again this year.

My son has a PBK batman one that he used last year for kindergarten and will be using again for first grade. Held up great.
He also has a lands end backpack that he got for a gift and has used for the past 3 summers for camp and looks amazing.

DD's PBK backpack was used all year and still looks new. Highly recommend.

Have had several disney ones for preschool. Every year the mesh pockets ripped. They are cute but not the best. In our school only a small number had them.

Past two years my DD has had a PB kids one. We got two this year, one for my kindergartener and one for my second grader. Most of the bags by us are PB kids or lands end. Both years other than some dirt, the bag has been n perfect condition. We use them now for grandma sleepovers, going to the pool. I only buy a new one bc I like having a new bag every a Sept, not because there was anything wrong with it.

LOL got her a Disney Light up Princess backpack at Walmart last year (figuring who cares its cheap get another if we need to) it lasted all year! Lights and all!!!!

She dumped water in it, dragged it in dirt, grapple, mud. Scraped it on pavement by dragging it behind her. Still survived. Its been tossed around, kicked around, sat on and the lights still work!

So this year.. to walmart we went. She got a princess backpack with their pets this time. For $6.88 what do I care?

She's a happy clam and I am too. We'll see how it fairs in 1st grade. I was set to replace the last one after xmas break in my mind but it held up, so I'm going in with the same thought .. it needs to make it past xmas break.


ETA: yah like PP I always intend to get a new one each year.. new year, new backpack so my expectations aren't set for the bp to last forever. And yes her mesh pockets suffered but we don't use those for anything but water. She tore hers getting a key ring caught and tugging to remove it (at the carnival)

Ds's Ll bean backpack looks brand new after two years of use.

I buy LE or Jansport but usually half way through school year when they Are cheaper. I try not to spend more than $30 each kid
