When did your picky eater stop being picky?
Specifically if they did not eat most meats and veggies, when did they finally start to?
I just can't take it. We offer him what we eat every night and it just is not happening.

Re: picky eating toddlers
my daughter is three and when she was younger she was a great eater always ate all her veggies and most meat i put in front of her.
Now she is soooo picky and poo poos veggies but i always put it on her dish in the hopes she will taste it same as meat sometiimes she eats the meat when we make a game of it ...like i bet you cant eat 4 pieces and we count down as she eats them ( its a hit or misss depending on her mood )
she has recently started eating strawberries and respberries by carton lol . just keep offering them to your child and if they see it more and more and see u eating it they will hopefully start ( my wishful think anyway lol ) good luck to you

I totally feel your pain. DD is the same exact way! At this point I just give her what she wants which is pretty much yogurt, bread, sometimes chicken (if we are lucky) and some fruit. She throws everything else on the floor and wants nothing to do with it. It is sooooooooo frustrating!

DD is 27 months and she's still very picky. She has her favorite meats and veggies but she wants little to do with most others. The only good thing was around 2 she finally started to understand bribing! She has to eat a few bites of meat or veggies to get a piece of bread or fruit for example. She can have a treat after dinner if she does a great job. The negotiating is not fun either but it at least gets her to eat a little of something new or different or at least taste it. I've also accepted that she won't starve if she decides to eat a few licks of ketchup for dinner so I don't stress about it like I did when she was younger.

This is my dd too and we also end up giving her what she wants. She hadn't gained any weight in 3 months so we really needed just to get her to eat (and of course it's not that we were starving her it was just if she didn't eat everything we gave her we would just let it go bc she didn't seem hungry - when she would seem hungry or ask for more we always have more of what she wanted). But now we end up going through a few options each meal til we find something she likes

Re: picky eating toddlers
DS used to be a great eater, but now he's getting so picky. I just give him what he wants for now, and will fight that battle when he's older and understands more, or when his preferences change. He's 18 months old now.

We just started using a sticker chart to reward good behavior for 4YO DD and one of the things she can do to earn a sticker is trying a new food. It's relatively easy so she's willing to do it. So far, I've gotten her to eat pita (with gyros) and cherries, which she enjoys because we get to use 'launcher' (a cherry pitter).
Maybe if you come up with some cool way to eat a new food, your LO will try it. They sell tiny little plastic appetizer forks at certain stores - maybe that will be enough of a novelty that they'll give it a try. Or a new cool plate from the Disney Store.
