Suggestions for a new mom
My friend lives in the bellmore area and just had a baby. The baby is not 3 months old yet and she needs to get out of the house. I had the same experience, no family and Husband was at work and got lonely and stir crazy and had to find thing to do and make new friends. Any suggestions for the area she lives in?

Suggestions for a new mom
I know exactly what that's like. Tell her to check out classes at her local library. Meetup.com was a big one for me and I made a lot of really great friends. Just going for walks with another new mom. Meeting for lunch.
Also, once dh got home from work just running out for an hour to get a mani pedi felt amazing.

Re: Suggestions for a new mom
Tell her to GO OUT! 3 months isn't a magical age where she can suddenly take her baby out. Just going for daily walks (sometimes twice a day) or to the store to run an errand helped me feel so much better when DS was born. And it was winter! I'd just bundle him up and go! I also met up with another mom, who I met on this board, and we'd walk our babies together for hours around the neighborhood. Meetup.com is a good idea, too. Mommy and Me Yoga. Any local class where she can get out and feel like she's not alone.

Anywhere! I took my DS anywhere and everywhere and it was winter.
The whole wait until shots is a bunch of BS IMO. The first shots babies get are not protecting them from the common illnesses that they would be exposed to at the store or beach or places like that.

Exactly this. Plus most of those shots are the first of a series they need to be immune.
This is a great time of year to get out and walk! Even just running to CVS, Starbucks, etc.

Suggestions for a new mom
At that age I just rotated between BRU, Target, Carters, etc. Just to get out for an hour, see other adults, and pass some time was great. Around 4 months we started with library classes and met lots of moms there that I've become friends with. She could see if the library has a new moms discussion group or if she's nursing she could look for a support group just to get out and meet other new moms.
