Playground question

What do you encourage your child to do?

Let's say you are at the park and a kid hits/pushes/punches your child?

What do you tell him to do?

Re: Playground question

First I have no problem telling the kid no. Lol. Today a kid at the ice cream place was punching my 1 yr old in the back. I told him "no thank you. No hitting".

For older dd I tell her to tell them "no hitting. That's not nice Etc". If it happens again I tell her to leave them alone. I will tell the kid no and I always keep my eye on the kid.

We were at an indoor gym and this kid was being. ToTl menace. The mother didn't do anything. The kid brought in his own little bike and screamed every time someone tried to use it. The mother just said oh that's his from home. We'll do t bring it if you can't share it. Then he kept crashing into all the kids On it leaving a mark on a little girl. I sternly "yelled" at him. And it kept happening. The other mom said something to his mom and she did nothing. I finally left b/c he made it miserable.

Re: Playground question

I have a hard time with this because honestly, I would like to tell my daughter to hit them back.

Since that's not really the right thing to teach a kid, I just tell her to tell them it's not nice & to walk away.
