powdered formula
My pediatrician suggested I wait to use powdered formula and stick to ready to feed as she said if you don't use just the right amount of powder you can really mess up the baby's electrolytes. I would prefer to use organic formula but powdered makes the most sense from a cost and availability stand point with organic. Right now I'm using non organic similac.
Has anyone else heard of an electrolyte imbalance from powdered formula? At what age should you wait until to use powdered formula. Can you just use filtered water to mix it or do you buy special water? Prefer not to use bottled water.
I never used powdered with my other 2 kids so I'm not so sure about it. My baby is 5 weeks old.

I used powdered as soon as I ran out of the nursettes from the hospital.
Probaby around 2 weeks old
Never had an issue.

Same. I used water from the Brita pitcher. I have heard about electrolyte imbalances or whatnot from not preparing the powdered formula correctly, but as long as you're reasonably careful about measuring you'll be fine!
