How often do you give tylenol for teeth?

I'm usually pretty conservative with giving it. My 5 month old DD is on the verge of cutting teeth. I can see them just under her lumpy gums and the doctor confirmed at her appt on Monday that they're really swollen. As a result, she is barely napping, not in her crib, not in the car, and not even from nursing (which usually does the trick if I can't get her down). She falls asleep at night because she is just so exhausted and usually wakes up once around 2:30. I gave it to her a couple of nights so far. She still got up, but putting her down was easier. I was tempted to give it to her during the day so maybe she could nap, but I don't want to give it too often. What do you do?

Never. We never gave anything for teething.

I use camila gel thats over the counter and it works like a charm..never tylenol.

I gave it at night for a few days for DD's first teeth. There were days that she was a complete mess at exactly the four hour mark from her last dose which to me was an indication that she was in serious pain. Those times, I gave it. I don't suffer through that kind of pain without taking meds so I wouldn't not give it to her. I didn't give it around the clock but when she needed it, it was obvious and I didn't hesitate to give it.

I try really hard not to give Tylenol for teething during the day except as a last resort, but at night there were times where DD had it several nights in a row, or more often than not over the course of a week or so. Hope those teeth pop soon!

We do it at night for sure. At nap time we do if they are just in there crying and not able to fall asleep. When they're awake I try to use things like teething rings etc, but if that's not working I'll give it as a last resort. Never less than 4 hours between doses though.

As often as allowed by dosing. I feel so bad having them suffer when modern medicine has created pain relievers to help them through it.

Only a few nights when it was really bad & nothing else was helping, or if he had a fever.

I gave it about every 6 hours or so when the teeth were cutting and she was really uncomfortable. Usually after 24 hours she was feeling a little better.

i've given motrin twice today for teeth. i feel awful for him. he is 10 months old and had no teeth and now has at least 3 breaking through all at once.....ouch!!! hope your LO feels better soon.

The only time I gave it was when she was crying uncontrollably, and nothing else would help. This was maybe twice? I highly recommend an amber teething necklace. Since we've had it, I have not had to give any pain med.

i feel like Ibuprofen works better for teething but she may to young just yet to give it. Bit I try to only give at night, but I have given it during the day before. I give it as needed according to dosage directions. I would def give it if she is uncomfortable

We give Tyleonol whenever DS needs it. He lets us know when he's in pain. When he was cutting his molars, he'd cry and hold his mouth. Of course we gave it then!
