Lexapro and pregnancy

Just curious for those of you TTC and also taking lexapro. Does your doctor recommend you go off it before you TTC, once you have conceived or not at all. I've taken a long break while dealing with gallbladder issues but was curious before I TTC again.

Lexapro and pregnancy

that is a question best suited for your psych and ob. It is a category C medication, which means that they cannot rule out any effects on the baby. It would really depend on whether or not your doctors think it's safe for you to be WEANED off.

I totally agree with you and my doctors feel that since it's class C there's no reason to risk staying on unless absolutely necessary. I am just curious about others experiences. I'm on the lowest dose but have been for years. I know for sure I don't want to go through tapering if I get pregnant.

I was on it with DS. I am still on it. Plan to stay on it. All my docs were onboard with it and still are.

And you feel it didn't effect your children in any way?

Not 1 bit... severe anxiety or depression is worse for a gestating baby if the mother has severe depression or anxiety... mine is anxiety
