registry options

I am getting different options on things and I would love to hear yours..

1. small bottles verus larger
(2 people said do not bother to register for smaller bottles just get the larger ones and dont fill all the way or get the dropins.

2. Plastic vs wood High Chairs
Plastic ones are bigger get a wood one its smaller and don't worry about recline they only recline for a few months

3. Microwave Sterilizer vs the dishwasher
I thought you only need to sterilizer the new bottles. Someone told me no everytime you use it for like 6mth-1 year

1. We started with the smaller version of the bottles and then once we figured out which bottles we liked, we got bigger ones. But FYI, bigger ones may come with a faster nipple for older babies.

2. We don't have a high chair yet but we'll be getting a plastic one. Not a fan of the wood ones.

3. We have the microwave sterilizer and use it about once a week, not every day. We hand wash and then either use the sterilizer or throw the bottles in the dw once a week or as needed.

It's only a registry. Relax. Everyone is going to have an opinion on everything. Register for what YOU want and if you end up not liking something you return it. Keep the boxes. You're definitely stressing yourself out over something little.

I registered for bigger bottles as per a friend's advice.. then my doctor said it was awful advice bc the baby will get gassy and that the fast nipples that come on the bigger bottles aren't good for a newborn. So we registered for a variety.

Re: registry options

1 - we had small and large bottles for DD because i never gave it any thought...but for #2 im only buying the large bottles and ill get the slow flow nipples (you should not give your newborn a bottle with a fast flow nipple).

2 - i think its more of a personal decision; im not a fan of wood high chairs. if space is a concern, you can get a fisher price space saver high chair which you just put on your current chair. we have it and love it

3 - i wouldnt bother buying a sterilizer. we sterilized bottles, nipples, pacifiers etc either in the dishwasher (just buy one of those baskets) or we would boil water and drop them in.

1. We had some 4 oz and 8 oz bottles for DD. The smaller bottles just took up less space in her diaper bag, so they were convenient.

2. We have a plastic high chair. The Duo Diner is awesome because it adjusts and can be used as a booster by taking it off the base. I'm not a fan of wooden high chairs.

3. We did all of our sterilizing in a pot of boiling water. I'm just not a fan of using the microwave for anything baby related. We did NOT sterilize after every use. We did it when we bought new bottles, and then I'd toss them in the pot every now and then just to be safe.
