I am getting different options on things and I would love to hear yours..

1. small bottles verus larger
(2 people said do not bother to register for smaller bottles just get the larger ones and dont fill all the way or get the dropins.

2. Plastic vs wood High Chairs
Plastic ones are bigger get a wood one its smaller and don't worry about recline they only recline for a few months

3. Microwave Sterilizer vs the dishwasher
I thought you only need to sterilizer the new bottles. Someone told me no everytime you use it for like 6mth-1 year

Re: registry options

The bottle size really depends on if you BF. I registered for the large and small size, but only use the small ones. DD is BF and has never had more than 5 oz. at a time. The composition of BM changes over time, so you don't need to increase ounces so much as they get older.

If you plan on FF, I would say yeah just get the larger size.

Well I am going to try to bf. But being a ftwm I know I'll need to pump into bottles. So you think small ones?

I registered for one package of large bottles and one package of small bottles- my DD is BF and we just introduced a bottle for pumped milk. She takes 3-4 ounces of milk now. I got a plastic high chair. I choose the graco duo diner because it is a high chair and a booster seat and it folds for storage. I am not a fan of the wooden high chairs. A sterilizer is unnecessary. You only need to sterilize new bottles and nipples- this can be done with a pot of boiling water- if you choose to sterilize more frequently you can use the same method.

Re: registry options

My DS is almost 6 months old and is still only drinking 5oz, so we still use the small bottles. I don't see him taking any more than this either, because we're starting food now. I do have a supply of large bottles but have yet to open them.

We have a plastic highchair because we wanted to be able to fold it.

Sterilizing...I just boiled, and then wash in the dishwasher.

1. Buy a few small bottles. Your kid may not like the bottle type you picked out. Like diapers, a few to get you started. Don't waste money.

2. I have a wooden high chair because it's small. Plastic ones are bigger. Both are equally functional.

3. I'd sterilize every week, in a big pot of boiling water. I did use glass bottles.

You don't need to sterilize because once something hits the air it's not sterile. Just wash with soap and water

The other items are personal choice

1. Smaller vs larger bottles- to save dough, I guess you could only register for large bottles. Destination maternity and different stores tend to give small avent bottles when registering anyway, so you could just use those as your small ones if you happened to receive any. I BF and rarely use bottles. The small ones are great for measuring breast milk to warm for cereal.

2. I preferred the plastic high chair to the wood ones. I read all of their pros and cons and felt the peg perego fit my needs best, so that's what we got.
PS my DD is 8 months and while we no longer recline the back, the leg portion still hasn't been altered to full seated position.

3. Microwave sterilizer- I have one. I BF and sterilize my parts and bottles about once a quarter. Sometimes they just don't look or smell clean. That's when I do it.

Re: registry options

1. I was told not to get the small bottles, but I did anyway. I liked them for a short time until DS started drinking more and then I just needed the big ones. But I had a couple small ones. They came in the Dr Brown's starter set anyway.

2. Total preference. We have plastic. I have no idea what you mean about "they only recline for a few months." Ours has a few settings but we never touch it. You can't use a high chair until the baby can sit on his own.

3. Sterilizer is a waste of money. Just boil the parts before the first use and use the dishwasher after that.
