lower temps indicative of a problem?
Hi, I am not TTC just yet but I am starting to chart to be more aware of my cycles. I was on BCP for a little while and came off 2 months ago. Since then I have been charting and I have noticed that my Pre-O temps are in the 97-97.2 range and post O around 97.6... Prior to going on BCP my pre o temps were around 97.6 and Post O temps around 98.1-98.3. Is this something I should be concerned about? TIA!

No, those are totally normal ranges. Some people just naturally have a lower body temperature. Just be aware, that when you are sick, for you a temp of 99.X is more like a 100.X. I'm this way, and a few of my friends are like this. Don't know about you, but most of us don't get sick very often, either... I don't know of it's coincidence or something related.
those are totally normal temperatures, absolutely nothing to worry about.

Ok thanks. Just thought it was strange that pre-BCP my temps were higher. But good to know there are others like this!

As you age, your body changes. I'm sure when I was 20 before I went on the pill, my temps were higher, I would never have thought to check it though.

Nope. My average temp was 96.8 w/ a basal thermometer.

WOW, and I thought I was low in the low-mid 97's!
DH always thought I was just being a baby when I'd be sick and have a 99* temp, but 99* for me is like 100+.

Re: lower temps indicative of a problem?
Ok to update- 8 day LP this cycle- not good! And my OB said they don't prescribe progesterone until after you get a BFP to test levels. What sense does that make?

If your LP is normally that low, I would recommend seeing an RE. OB's usually will not prescribe progesterone as a prophylactic.
