awe
i'm sorry
but as i said before- really it isn't ALL that bad and it's a pretty good way to eat.
as long as you monitor your carb intake and don't eat any white sugar, you SHOULD be OK.
as I said, my blood sugar levels have been perfect by eating smaller, more frequent meals and trying to stay away from white (sugar, white flour, etc)- I still eat carbs- but make sure they are high in fiber. I also find I can have fruit during lunch but NOT around dinner time b/c my sugars spike more- doc said sugars are actually harder to control at night, which is why I am allowed to eat more carbs @ lunch than at dinner.
anyway- you'll be OK- the monitor isn't that bad at all.

Curious to know...does GD only occur bc of pregnancy or does that mean u have to watch after pregnancy as well? Just wondering why this happens to some during pregnancy?

Princess, I dont know why some get it and some dont. stinks.Yes GD is only during pg. My dr said it should go away after pg but I am a candidate later on in life if I dont continue a healthy lifestyle I can get type 2 diabetes and if thats uncontrolled then it goes to tpe 1.

This is the way I look at it.
This is a GREAT warning sign- if we change the way we eat & watch then we can prevent ourselves from getting diabetes later on.
and it never hurts to eat healthfully
it's a blessing in disguise.

GD does happen because of pregnancy, but it can be a sign of things to come. Which is what happened to me. I had GD and when Damien was 20 months I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
