club med? majestic elegance or one of the paradisus? DR
looking into these options for the dominican republic and i can't figure out which way to go. Help please.
family of 5. 2 adults, a 6 year old, 3 year old and a 6 month old baby.
i'm big on food so to do an all inclusive and hear the food is okay kind of bothers me. But my husband really wants an AI. So help me please!
ETA: i also heard good things about the club med in cancun.

My mom stayed at majestic colonial last September and thought it was beautiful and great service. The food was ok, nothing great about it. She didn't care for it, but it didn't ruin her trip. Colonial and elegance are sister properties so not too sure how the food is at elegance. I would read tripadvisor reviews.

I know you've heard from me and know my opinion but I just wanted you to know that there are two Paradisus resorts, Paradisus Punta Cana and Paradisus Palma Real. PPC is not as nice as PPR and doesn't get reviews that are nearly as good. I really don't think you will be disappointed with PPR. The food is definitely better than ok. Since I went for my wedding and wasn't able to visit multiple resorts to decide, I researched heavily and PPR got the best reviews consistently for family friendly resorts.
Ok I'll stop now

yes thank you! The PPR sounds awesome, but not sure if that's out of the price range for the other family we are traveling with. So i wanted to gather a few options.
now what's the difference between the reserve at Palma real versus the regular one?

The Reserve is considered a boutique hotel within the Paradisus Palma Reserve. It has it's own section, pool and restaurants but Reserve guests can access and utilize all the amenities and restaurants of the main resort. Main resort guests cannot utilize the Reserve's "stuff". The Kids club is located at the Reserve but you don't have to be part of the Reserve to use the Kids club. Within the Reserve, you can also upgrade to the Family Concierge service which provides you with extra family friendly amenities (we did not utilize it so I can't say if it is worth it or not). The rooms at the reserve are bigger. It's quieter. You have to take a golf cart to the beach but I think there is a section of the beach reserved for Reserve guests.

We just booked Paradisus The Reserve at palma Real for November for my in laws 40th anniversary. We are traveling with kids ages 9,7,5 & 4. Pricing was extremely reasonable considering what you are getting. We opted for the 1 bedroom master family concierge room.
Hubby & I stayed at The Reserve in 2010 & had a fabulous time hence why we picked this resort for our families
