Hearing the Heartbeat at Dr Bashian
Hi everyone!! I've been lurking on this site for a long time, but now at 11 weeks with my first, I'm ready to come out of hiding!
I have a question I'm hoping you can help with. I see Dr. Bashian in Bellmore, but during my 8 week ultrasound I saw but did not hear the heartbeat. Is that normal? I go back next Tuesday but do any of you know if I'll hear anything this time around? Thanks!

We see dr frenkel in the same practice, and didn't actually hear the heartbeat until 20 weeks for some reason-they only do it if you're not having an ultrasound I think

That's weird. I heard mine at 7 weeks at their practice.

I see dr Sturim (which is the group bashian delivers with). She doesn't listen to the heartbeat til around 16 weeks, but she does show it to you. Did you see it?

We definitely saw it flickering and she said everything was normal. We were just so excited I didn't even thing to ask!
