how are his bowel movements? Are they very frequent? Does he have diaper rash?
He may need a more broken down formula like alimentum or elecare.
All infants have some form of reflux.
Like I suggested earlier-def. see a pediatric GI
Good luck!
ETS? I know you said he doesn't have a milk protein allergy---did you have him tested?
He usually has a bm once every 2 days. Never had a diaper rash. We had his bm tested at dr and it was negative for milk protein allergy
Ok! Good! Im glad you 100% ruled that out. I would def. talk to your dr. about alimentum or elecare. Since it is more broken down, it will be easier for him to digest!!
Hang in there! You will figure it out!

Re: Don't know what to do to help my 6 week old
My son had it and the meds is what helped him the most We did the formula changes Gripe water Gas drops Baby yoga Burp after every ounce Sleep on incline Feed small amounts every hour
He screamed in pain I felt horrible Eating was a nightmare but I could hear it in his cheat even when he wasn't
If he need medS don't feel bad about it Some kids do
Hang in there. I know how hard it is and unless your kid had reflux then I'm sorry but you just don't know

Re: Don't know what to do to help my 6 week old
Sorry last one lol
We tried a bunch of formulas and the sensitive ones actually made him worse so if they do for you don't get discouraged
It's about finding the right balance

Re: Don't know what to do to help my 6 week old
Sounds like it could be reflux. It could be a milk protein intolerance (not allergy) causing reflux. I would probably try a special formula. Hope your DS gets some relief soon!

Re: Don't know what to do to help my 6 week old
We switched formulas a few different times, finally got rid of the Similac all together after my DD has issues with the regular and the Similac sensitive... Switched to Enfamil Gentlease and solved the problem. I started her on the liquid but when I switched to the powder it was even better, I wish I had started her on the powder gentlease from the beginning. Hope your little one is doing better soon!

I had a similar experience with my ds and switched from similac advanced to sensitive and it worked like a charm- no issues since.
Same here

Re: Don't know what to do to help my 6 week old
If you haven't already, try:
Use the premixed formula instead of the powder
Change the bottles you are using, or the nipple size (maybe go smaller?)
Hold him up for 15 minutes after each feeding

Don't know what to do to help my 6 week old
I would try switching formulas to something gentler like Enfamil Gentlease. The proteins are broken down more so it's easier for them to digest.

Don't know what to do to help my 6 week old
My DS was colicy and has a milk sensitivity. Not allergic.
I tried the Similac Sensitive and it was worse. The gentlease was the best. My DS still cannot drink whole milk and he is 2. We use soy.

Don't know what to do to help my 6 week old
My kids didn't do well on Similac. Switched to Gerber Good Start (cheaper too) and Enfamil Gentlease ..even Target Gentle and never had a problem. Hope your baby feels better real soon.
