help with name spelling and pronouce
We are really leaning toward Madeline
....But is it pronounced Mad-uh-lyn or Mad-a-line. I do not want it like the girl from the book...
Also is it Madalyn or Madelyn??

This.
ETA: I've never seen it spelled Madalyn and really dislike the way that looks.

Madalyn and Madeline are definitely distinct pronunciations. The end tells you how, Lyn or Line.

ITA they are two different names. I think if you want it to be pronounced that way either spelling you put in your OP is fine but I'd steer from Madeline if you don't want it to be mispronounced.

We're leaning towards this as a middle name but we are spelling it Madolyn

In France, maybe, but not in North America. Both are pronounced Mad-a-Lynn.

I totally agree, two different names. Madeline is pronounced like the book. Madelyn is mad-uh-lyn. I don't love the madalyn spelling it looks funny to me. i would use Madelyn.
