Where did you girls get your spill free table cloths from? Re: kids and messes
Bought a new dining room set. I'd like to cover it with a nice looking table cloth that is spill proof if possible because we all know how it is with a 2.5 year old and spills and such..
Every spill free table cloth I've come across in macys and home goods were horrendous.
Also, do any of you have ideas for covering a fabric chair? I'd like to cover the chair and then place the booster seat over it.
Thanks!
Edited to add a picture of my new set. I'm liking your suggestions, ladies. If anyone else has some other ideas, please let me know! Thanks!
Ugh won't let me upload from my iPhone. Will have to do it later from home Mac.

Do you mean a table cloth where the liquid just beads up? They sell nice ones at bed bath and beyond

If you're talking about one other than where the liquid beads up, I'd get either a table pad, or one of the vinyl ones (that may be what you're seeing that is horrendous) and put it underneath the tablecloth that I like.

I got a piece of glass cut for the table top. With 2 kids, I put a regular table cloth on top & a plastic tablecloth in top of that. Be careful putting anything with plastic on top of wood veneer (typical of nice furniture) because it can mess with the laquering on top. Glass is quite beautiful with spacers under. It does show fingerprints. As for chairs, I've tried a lot of covers, all stink. Now I put a towel over the chair, under the booster. I'm going to replace the fabric with leather (bonded) very soon. My set is 5 yrs old.

What about a table pad? They are usually made for your table to fit perfectly and have a vinyl top. My mother in law has an antique diningroom table and always hosts the holidays. She always put the pad cause someone always spills something and the pad has protected her table for at least 10 years

$100-$200. Somewhere in between. Maybe $140 & with tip, we ended up more towards $200. I don't exactly remember.
My table seats 8 (you have to decide on the size because the glass is heavy & it's hard to take on & off).
They came, measured, delivered. I went to a glass store (windows, etc.) that was local.
I'm really happy I did it. The table is pretty & protected, but with kids & fingerprints, you do have to windex it daily (unless you cover it again, like I ended up doing).

We have one of those that the water beads up and a waterproof mat under it. (the liquid will soak if there is a lot at once - such as tonight when DS dumped his milk). Otherwise it just beads up. So amazing!! Its from Bed Bath and Beyond and looks nice. the mat under has fuzzy stuff under it so it doesn't hurt the table - my mom has one too that she has used since I was a kid lol
