Can someone explain to me what a diaper wall is at a shower?
My SIL was invited to a baby shower and they are doing a "diaper wall" instead of a wishing well. I've never heard of this. Does she just bring a box of diapers instead of a wishing well gift? TIA!

A box of diapers, even a small one, is much more money then what people usually spend on the wishing well gift. I'm surprised people are asking people to do this.

Completely agree. I've always thought that "stocking up" on diapers prior to birth is a bad idea.

Thanks ladies! I agree I think asking this is a bit ridiculous. I'm going to tell her to buy a small package of size 2 or 3 diapers. I never even heard of thus before and think the little wishing well gifts are much more useful than getting a ton of diapers that you may not be able to use all of.

You can exchange unopened dealers for a diff size at most stores. I don't think it's a big deal,if she doesn't want to buy diapers she doesn't have to. I doubt they will even notice.

We did this for mine, but it was called a diaper pyramid. It's in the place of a wishing well. I got all different sizes and didn't have to buy diapers until DS was 6 months. It was a huge help!

I have to say I think the exact opposite. I think it's a great idea and more practical than a wishing well. We didnt do this at mine but I did attend one where they asked for diapers and wipes instead of a wishing well. Loved the idea

I did this at mine for diapers and wipes
Every one got a raffle and we made a basket for he winner
People loves the idea. No issues with it and we didn't have to buy diapers for a long time

My mom did this for my shower...We got a ton of varying sizes...it was so nice I didn't buy diapers until my twins were 9 months.
If you think it is a big deal just spend a little less than you would typically on the gift.

I had something similar for my shower. Wishing well/diaper wall is always an option... no something anyone has to participate in. We got a ton of diapers sized newborn-2 and aside from 2 packs of size 2 we used them all. I plan to give those packs to my friends DD who is in that size.

The stuff that gets put in a wishing well is usually cheap products from the .99 store that no person in their right mind would use. Its all cheap toxic stuff.
I had a build a library in lieu of the wishing well. Diaper wall sounds kool too. I think its a great idea!

Actually i did not get anything cheap from the .99 store in my wishing well with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 things that were no name and did not use them. And most of the people i know got some really great stuff in their wishing well. I think a library is a good idea but i am not a fan of this diaper thing. It doesn't matter to me since it's not me going to this shower but i never heard of it and I'm just not a fan.
