Mine got harder def in last few weeks (I'm 22w tomorrow). I run out of breath going up and down the stairs mainly.

those are Braxton Hicks -- many people confuse BH with false labor but they are not the same. BH can come and go through out pregnancy and its just sporadic. Doesn't hurt just feel belly get hard for a minute and feels funny.
True false labor is contractions with pain but not regular.

17 weeks here too and mine sometimes gets hard. I know I had this with my other 2 kids but I don't think it started quite so early. I have been feeling this since about 15 weeks

I would get occasional tightening with no pain around 17 weeks when I would exercise.

Same with me when I was pregnant.

These are BH contractions. Had them with both pregnancies and 17w is def not too early. I'm 17 weeks now and have been getting them for a little while.

This is DC#3 and I began noticing this around 16-17wks. I guess I'm more in tune now with weird uterine twitches/tightening... It worried me the first few times. Now I usually just chug water and put my feet up for a few minutes and it stops.

That's not necessarily true. It really depends on the person. I thought my belly hardening during my last pregnancy was just BH and paid no attention to it but they were real contractions that were changing my cervix. I have a high pain tolerance and didn't think they were painful at all.
To the OP, just keep an eye on it and mention it to the doctor. See if they can do an internal sono to check your cervical length too and hook you up to a monitor to see if they are contractions.
