separation anxiety affecting sleep

DD is 10.5 months and separation anixiety has really set in. She holds onto me so tight sometimes, even when DH tries to hold her. But then sometimes she'll hang on to him too. Fine.

It is now affecting sleep. Last night she was up for 2 hours bc she would not let me put her down. She was putting her arms around my neck and putting her head on my shoulder so I wouldnt let go. It was adorable and annoying at the same time lol. Everytime I thought I got her to sleep and put her down she opened her eyes screaming. I have done CIO before and have no problem with that, but this is blood curling screaming for me to hold her. She also has two teehth about to pop.

Please tell me this is a phase. What can I do? She also work up about an hour early today and refused to go back down.

She's teething and likely in pain....I personally would comfort and ride it out. If this isn't in you, have you tried some form of pain relief?

This is what I'm thinking too. I gave her tylenol last night and rocked her. It took 2 hours but she did go back down. I'm hoping your right and I will just have to ride it out.

Try motrin instead. It works much better for teething pain and lasts longer.Chat Icon

motrin definitely. Also hylands teething tabs help and I think are good for restlessness.

It's also a bit of a phase too with the separation anxiety. Does she like any dolls or loveys? We use the snuga monkey for bedtime because of the music and it gives a little light.

separation anxiety affecting sleep

I def think a big part of it is teething with a touch of separation.

Dd does this for naps (she is 9 months) and I recently let her have a lovey in the crib. It def helps!

I think it is teeth. My DD gets the same way and I let her sleep on me.
