Party at American Girl
Has anyone ever done a bday party at the American Girl doll store? I was thinking of doing DD's 5th bday there this year with some one her closest friends. Was curious if anyone has done this. Thanks!

Re: Party at American Girl
I took my daughter when she was 4 and her and I did the "party package". It was so cute, and the cake was great.
We just went to an actual party there with a few kids/parents. It was fun. It was a cafe party (not the private area). The kids each got a cute goody bag. The mom paid for the kids AND the parents, which was overly generous. She also booked the personal shopper for about an hour and a half before lunch (it's free).
You have to decide if you will be paying for parents, their transportation, etc.

What is the personal shopper? Did they girls get to do anything special with the dolls?

Nothing special with the dolls, they sit at the table to eat with you though. The personal shopper takes them around the store, gives them a tour basically. Plus it's nice to have the lounge to relax in until your meal time (or after). They will hold all our purchases in the lounge for you, and it's a quick checkout rather than waiting in the huge long lines at the regular checkout. She also gave our girls posters, which was nice.

When we booked the personal shopper gave us gifts but you have to ask for them. The free gifts were AG books and a shirt for the doll. That was separate from the birthday package.

Yeah they were out of the shirt when we were there she said, so the posters were the other option.

Party at American Girl
My friend just did this for her 5 year old and she said it was amazing. The pictures were amazing. She told me her dd had an amazing time and all the girls LOVED IT! They did a great job and she was really happy with it.
