Acupuncture
Can someone please explain to me how acupuncture is supposed to help with TTC and getting a BFP? When is the best time to go? Are there any success stories?
Also, I recall someone recommending a therapist in Oceanside, I think. Can you please pass that name along if you do recommend him?
Thanks!

There are a lot of success stories. I know in Oceanside it's Andy Kaplan - I don't go to him so I don't have his number - but a lot of girls on the pregnancy board went/go to him. I personally go to Smithtown Acupuncture because Oceanside is too far for me.

Yes, that was his name. thank you.
But, can you just tell me how it's supposed to work? Does it relax you? Is that the theory behind it?

it does relax you, but the theory behind it is ancient chinese - it has to do with energies and flow through your body. you need to have an open mind and believe it's going to work for you. If you close yourself off and are skeptical, it's not, mainly because you are not opening your body and self up for it. (same could be said of anything, if you go in and think that imitrex isn't going to help your migraines, it won't, but if you are open minded about it, it likely will).

I would dare to say i am a succes stoy of accupuncture. I started going and withina month of going- BFP. we had been trying for over a year without success. Had been diagnosed with some medical issues and started seeing Dr. Yang. She told me it could take 2-3 months, and first month, got what i was looking for.. if i struggle again, i will not hesitate to go back.. i loved her and accupuncture..

Re: Acupuncture
I think acupuncture helped regulate my cycles -- I have long cycles and O the earliest I have in a year the cycle I went 2x a week before O. It also helped my mood and anxiety significantly. I go to Andy

Can I ask ...do insurances cover any? If not, what are the basic costs?

Re: Acupuncture
some insurances cover it. I did not go through insurance. She was 85/session for credit car, 80 for cash/check, and 70 if bought in bulk (like 10 sessions at a time- this is what i did). i have no regrets about the money i spent. I loved going. For me i left feeling like i had just gone to a spa. so relaxing.

Re: Acupuncture
Andy is also the reason I am 19 weeks pregnant now. I wasn't 100% sure how it worked, but I am now a true believer. I ovulate very late (day 18 around) and get my period very early (day 24). So, I have a luteal phase defect. I went to him for a treatment...he moved my ovulation to day 12 and now I'm preggo! Love Andy!
