...a family of 5 (a 7 year old, 4 year old and a 7 month old).

Where could you go with that budget that isn't disney?? We always do OBX with a few other families but that is most likely not happening this year.

Any suggestions would be awesome. It's for the summer...

Williamsburg. They have a flex pass with unlimited admission to colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. It also gets you into the water park and Busch gardens. Jamestown has some ships you can walk around and an Indian village. Those activities and a hotel pool should be good.

Cape Cod.

Lake George.

I have never been but a friend says her boys and her daughter enjoy the Yellowstone camp sites. They rent a cabin. The mom says they have pools, camp activities, etc. I think they are a chain with more than one location.

Lancaster and Hershey.

would you be into camping?? last summer, we rented an RV with our 2 year old DS and had a really great time. we went to Vermont (Ben and Jerry's factory, Vermont Teddy Bear Factory), and upstate NY ( Lake Placid, Lake George)

We rented through Cruise America. it was great because while it was roughing it a little bit- the camper still had heat, AC, running water. I can't remember the campgrounds we stayed at- but most of them have pools, playgrounds, etc for the kids. we also took DS's little bike and he had run peddling around the campgrounds. it was really reasonable, too because you could cook your own meals right in the RV if you wanted to...didn't have to eat out for every meal.

Hershey park or Lancaster? I feel like flights for a family of 4 are already 1200 bucks!

Cape cod or boston is nice for kids too

I know a few mentioned Cape Cod; I would combine Boston with either that or Southeast Maine.

Boston has a ton of stuff for kids, and then you can get some city time in to break things up.

Vermont has a lot for kids too: nature type things along with Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream factory, Vermont Teddy Bear co., Burlington, various farms with animals, corn mazes, etc.
