WWYD: Disney in January or March?

So I'm trying to plan a trip to Disney for early 2015. My parents have a house in FL and stay there for the winter each year so we will be visiting them and then spending a few days in Disney. I'm trying to avoid February because of the crowds/cost associated with President's week.

We might be staying at a Disney resort but we also have the option of using a timeshare in Kissimmee (my parents' house is over an hour away from Orlando so we won't stay with them for our Disney time). My DS will be almost 3 when we go.

If you could pick January or March to go, which would you pick? I've gone in January before but I know some of the water rides will be closed. Would March be a better option or would it be significantly more crowded and/or more expensive? Thanks!

If you plan on doing parks the entire time you are there I would do Jan. If you want pool time I would do March. Jan is cold in FL and this past Jan was very cold.

Also check when easter and passover is for 2013. If they are in march that will increase crowds.

Oh right, I totally forgot about easter/passover. Thank you!

March will be very crowded because many states use that time for spring break esp schools that end in May. Easter I think is the 6th or sometime early April in 2015. I would go February outside of the holiday and winter break or January. Jan-March is rehab time anyway. Could you go middle end of April.

I would do January purely because it's less crowded. The pools are heated if you really want to swim.

there are lots of cheerleading competitions in march - I have been in march and would not go back

I would say March for the warmer weather but after the winter we had and the horror stories I heard, I am afraid to fly in the winter again. I know of two people whose flights were canceled due to snow/storms. The only flights available were about 3 or 4 days later. They had to drive to Florida or cancel their trips altogether. I would stick to March just for the security. January's weather is just to iffy.

We just went beginning of February (before President"s Week), and it was very economical. We had two days of rain and 2 of gorgeous pool-type weather.

we love going in January. We've been when we needed winter coats and mittens. Two years ago, we were in shorts and t-shirts every day and used the pool.

January is a nice slow time of year. I think the longest line we wait on is about 10 minutes.

I would say January. It is a bit cooler, but the wait times are minimal. I usually went Martin Luther King week.
