car seats: Britax vs. Safety First Elite 80
Which brand does everyone seem to like ? Now I'm due in two weeks so don't need this yet but wanted to do my research. My friend said her son's head always fell forward w no support with the Britax. For her newborn she got the Safety 1st. Any feedback on these car seats would be appreciated.

The Britax Has Much Better Safety Ratings. We Have The Britax And Never Had A Problem With Head Support. You Can Purchase The Baby Bargains Book which Gives ratings And Info For All The Different Car Seats.

All carseats sold today have to meet minimum safety standards, so there's really no right or wrong answer. You have to buy one that you like and that fits your car well.

This!!
Extra $$ is spent on the seat name and "bells and whistles" such as padding, cup holders etc.

While at the basic point this statement is correct - for car specific situations it is not.
The Britax is a superior seat to the Safety First, In fact, most professionals do not recommend that Safety First at all.

The Safety First does not work in every car well. The Britax on the other hand can be installed in every situation.

I have a britax pavillion and I like it. Although I don't have anything to really compare it to I haven't had any problems.
My mom did all the research and insisted we get it. She got one too for her car.

For the infant seat, I still like the Graco Snugride (I got the 30) the best. I felt the others were just more for more bells & whistles which weren't necessary for me. For the convertible seat, I like the Britax seats the best. I have several Gracos and I HATE them!!!!! The buckles are SO SO SO hard to do, and I can't wait to replace them!
